What is the YMP?
The マヤコ | Mayako Youth Mentoring Program (YMP) is a collaborative effort between Mayako, all the Mayako Service Centers and Inv isible Speed. The goal of the program is to lower the barrier of entry into RC Racing, making it more affordable and accessible, by providing personal support and guidance for all levels of racing, from complete beginners, mid level racers all the way to world class racers.
This is an opportunity for YOU to make the most of this amazing hobby, and maybe even turn it into a career!
We are looking for 2 different types of people. 25 year olds and below, who we call “Youth”, racers who want to improve and see how far they can take this hobby. The other group are “Mentors”, any age racers or former racers, who have experience and knowledge, and can help us release the full potential of our Mayako Youth! (Discounts, FREE benefits, and levels of support depend on your application and location and will be personally explained to you by your Service Center.)

To apply for our Youth Mentoring Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

25 years old or younger, goal oriented.
Racing:
Take part in races locally, and if possible nationally/internationally. Motivated to improve your racing results by improving your skills and knowledge.
Discord & Social Media:
All personalities are welcome:
– Engage regularly with the community and maintain a visible presence on social media, OR
– Provide Mayako directly with pictures/videos for updates regularly.
Active in the Invisible Speed Coaching Program:
Participate consistently and show commitment to the program’s activities.
These criteria are designed to ensure that applicants are committed, engaged, and ready to grow within our program.

Discord & Social Media
Engage regularly with the community and maintain a visible presence on social media, or provide Mayako with pictures/videos for updates.
Active in the Invisible Speed Coaching Program
Participate consistently and show commitment to the program’s activities.
Race & Community Support:
Provide assistance and support during races. Offer help and guidance to the broader community on Discord.
These criteria ensure that mentors are dedicated, knowledgeable, and supportive, ready to contribute significantly to the community.

COACHING

Joseph brings with him a wealth of knowledge, as the founder of Invisible Speed, and as the MX8 designer. Over the last few years he has been honing his skills in coaching, which is exactly what he will be offering all Youth and Mentor drivers that Mayako supports.
The most active time will be February-September, but JQ will be available for support year round. The goal is to make sure that all racers are able to make the most out of their equipment and time at the track, make significant progress, and enjoy their racing and improved results more. And of course, we want to make sure we never hear the phrase ”the car doesn’t suit me” ever again!
Invisible Speed has a comprehensive book about car setup and driving, as well as an online course. YMP participants are required to join a coaching course, which is not publicly available. It contains all the same material as the Full Online Course, in addition to the coaching during the season.
